Richard Verschoor, Doriane Pin and Giorgio Roda finished fifth in the LMP2 Pro/Am category at the 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, the fourth round of the 2026 European Le Mans Series. After starting from class pole with the #30 Duqueine Team Oreca 07, the trio battled through an unpredictable four-hour race to add more valuable points to their championship campaign.
Third Pole of the Season
The weekend at the iconic Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps once again showed the potential of the #30 Duqueine Team Oreca. After working through the practice sessions, Giorgio Roda delivered an impressive performance in LMP2 Pro/Am qualifying. His 2:03.578 lap secured pole position by 0.944 seconds, giving Duqueine Team its third class pole of the 2026 season. It was another strong qualifying result for a team that has consistently shown front-running speed throughout the year.
A Chaotic Four Hours at Spa
Sunday’s race proved much less straightforward. Several incidents and Safety Car periods interrupted the opening half of the 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, constantly changing the gaps and forcing teams to adapt their strategies. Verschoor, Pin and Roda remained in the fight in a highly competitive LMP2 Pro/Am field. With the race settling down during the second half, strategy and execution became increasingly important as the field prepared for the final pit stops. At the front of the category, the battle continued until the closing minutes. AF Corse eventually secured the LMP2 Pro/Am victory, ahead of Algarve Pro Racing and AO by TF. The #30 Duqueine Team Oreca crossed the line fifth in class and 12th overall, collecting another valuable haul of points after a weekend that once again demonstrated the team’s outright pace.
Championship Fight Continues
Spa marked the fourth of six rounds in the 2026 European Le Mans Series season. Duqueine Team arrived in Belgium just five points behind the joint LMP2 Pro/Am championship leaders, keeping every result important as the title battle enters its decisive phase. Although a third podium of the season was not to be at Spa, another pole position provided a clear positive to take away from the weekend. The speed is there, and with two rounds remaining, there are still important opportunities ahead.
